Fairhope, AL - Cardiology Associates is pleased to announce that Karl V. Hakmiller, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.C., an invasive cardiologist with Cardiology Associates, has received Board Certification in Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography from the National Board of Echocardiography.
Dr. Hakmiller is also board certified in Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine; Cardiovascular Subspecialty, American Board of Internal Medicine; and Nuclear Cardiology, Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology.
Dr. Hakmiller earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was the medical director for Foreside Internal Medicine in Falmouth, Maine and for Appledore Medical Group in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He was Chief of the Department of Medicine at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He was an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine and a Clinical Instructor in the Internal Medicine residency program at the University of Vermont. He has received teaching awards for internal medicine.
Personal interests include genealogy, golf, fishing, and boating. Dr. Hakmiller and his wife live in Fairhope and have four children.
