Cardiology Associates Celebrates Heart Month

Mobile, AL - Cardiology Associates, a 25 physician group in Mobile and Baldwin counties, is celebrating National Heart Month throughout February by participating in a number of community events.

♥On Wednesday, February 1, Stephanie Cleveland, PA-C, from Cardiology Associates and Adriene Ramsey from the American Heart Association will be on WKRG-TV’s morning show “News 5 at 9” to discuss women and heart disease as well as special events planned for National Wear Red Day.

♥Dr. David Trice will do a live radio interview on Foley’s WHEP. He will discuss “How the Treatment of Heart Attacks Has Evolved.” Dr. Trice’s interview can be heard at 1 pm on Wednesday, February 1 on 1310 AM.

♥On Friday, February 3, Cardiology Associates will participate in three different Go Red for Women events. Go Red for Women is a national campaign that encourages awareness of women and heart disease.

♥In Fairhope at 10:30 a.m., Dr. Frank Bunch will speak on “Prevention of Heart Disease for Women” for the Women’s Best group of Thomas Hospital at their “National Wear Red Day Celebration: Take Time for Your Heart.” Tickets are $5 with proceeds going to the American Heart Association. ♥In Orange Beach, Kaiser Realty is sponsoring a Go Red for Women luncheon with Christin Rowe, PA-C, of Cardiology Associates, speaking on “Women: Love Your Heart.” Tickets for this catered luncheon are $25, with proceeds going to the AHA. ♥The American Heart Association is hosting Go Red for Women in Mobile on February 3. The event, which is being held at the Country Club of Mobile, will begin at 8 o’clock in the morning with registration at 7:30. Speakers, a silent auction, a fashion show, and lunch are all included in the $50 ticket price. Call the American Heart Association at 461-4000 for more information.

♥Also on February 3rd, Steve Goren, RN, with the Back on Track cardiac rehab program at Springhill Medical Center will appear on WKRG-TV with a Cardiology Associates patient. They will demonstrate and discuss cardiac rehabilitation exercise during the morning show’s News 5 at 9.

♥Tuesday, February 7, brings Dr. Glenn Cochran to Colonial Mall Bel Air for the Heart and Soles mall walkers club. Membership in the club is free, but you must register to attend. Dr. Cochran will speak on “Signs and Symptoms of Heart Disease” at 7:30 a.m. near the fountain at J.C. Penney. Call 478-1893 for more information.

♥Friday, February 10 brings cardiologist Dr. Jay Stinebaugh to the Orange Beach Senior Center. He will speak on “Lifestyle for a Healthy Heart” at 11 a.m. Call 981-3440 for more information.

♥Dr. Brian Dearing will appear on “Housecalls” on WKRG-TV on Monday, February 13. He will discuss Cardiac Stat, an innovative program in Baldwin County that is having huge success in getting heart attack patients needed help fast.

♥Thomas Hospital will host a special “Heart Check for Women” on Tuesday, February 14 from 7:30 – 11:30 a.m. Heart Check is a screening for heart disease which includes blood pressure checks, cholesterol and blood sugar tests, and consultation with health professionals. The fee is $15 and appointments are required and limited. Call 990-4008 to register or for more information.

♥On Wednesday, February 15, listen to Dr. Brian Dearing discuss “Cardiac Stat” on WHEP at 1 p.m.

♥Springhill Medical Center is hosting “A Day to Love Your Heart” on Friday, February 17 from 9 a.m. until noon in the HeartCare Center. H
