Cardiology Associates, a group of 27 physicians in Mobile and Baldwin County, has earned accreditation for all 5 of its nuclear labs and its mobile nuclear unit. The labs are located at each of the 5 main Cardiology Associates’ offices – three in Mobile and two in Baldwin County. The mobile unit travels to outreach locations in Atmore, Chatom, and Jackson.
Cardiology Associates was granted accreditation by the ICANL – Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories. ICANL evaluates the quality of several critical elements of a nuclear laboratory, including the experience and training of physicians, technologists, interpretive and technical abilities and diagnostic accuracy.
Drew Morrow, M.D. oversees the company’s nuclear labs, serving as Radiation Safety Officer. “It is an honor for our nuclear department to be recognized by a national body such as ICANL,” says Dr. Morrow. “It reinforces the efforts we make to consistently offer the highest quality patient care.”
