Dr. Chernick is a native of New York, before taking residence in Mobile in 1997, he completed his fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia and his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Dr. Chernick earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. He completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a concentration in biochemistry.

For over 20 years, Dr. Chernick worked full-time in Mobile seeing patients in the hospital and office. He now works in Cardiology Associates Fairhope office seeing patients on a semi-retired basis.
